The U.S. and Israel also confront the common dangers of terrorism and a nuclear Iran. Four developments this past week are particularly worrying. On Wednesday, the U.S. Navy revealed that an Iranian jet buzzed an aircraft carrier last month, a sign that Iran has little interest in negotiating. On Thursday, Iran was elected unanimously to the U.N. Commission on the Status of Women, without objection from the Obama administration.
Sadly, it is becoming increasingly clear that the Obama administration has no intention of preventing Iran from becoming a nuclear power, and no strategy for what to do when it does. Congress has done little to push the administration into action. The need for tougher sanctions is extremely urgent, yet Congress keeps delaying. It is up to us, the American people, to send a strong message that we will not accept a nuclear Iran.
